
The mission of the Children's Vision Foundation is to promote public awareness of learning difficulties related to vision problems in children. This is accomplished through community vision screenings, public education, and support the treatment of these conditions.

Typical school vision screenings routinely check children's using the Snellen Acuity Chart. This tool provides some basic information about the student's eyesight primarily sharpness of vision at distance – measured by the 20/20 line on the eye chart – to diagnose blurred distant vision. Unfortunately, children's vision involves much more.
